Guidance for patient, educational and developmental grants.
The Charity works to support patients with leukaemia and allied disorders in Cornwall and has a programme of grants to patients, survivors, their carers and families.
Applications can be for household appliances, household bills, small equipment, special furniture and travel costs (where not covered by hospital or other travel cost schemes).
The form must be completed by the applicant, or done along with one of the Haematology Department’s health care professionals and then submitted. It must be signed by the applicant, the referrer and a senior colleague of the referring person.
Educational and research grants:
Applications may be made by staff of the Haematology Department and Laboratories. These would include one off course fees with expenses, programmes for higher qualifications and local research (see below).
An written outline application will be made to the CLT, supported by a consultant Trustee. If successful, in due course an update should be made to the Board meeting on progress for the supported work.

Assessment and decision process
A grant up to a limit of £1500 may be agreed and signed on behalf of the Trust by either the Chair, the Honourary Secretary or designated consultant trustee/Honourary Treasurer.
Applications greater than £1500 will be considered by the CLT Board at the next bi-annual meeting.
Data Protection and Retention
To comply with current and the forthcoming 2018 revision to European and in due course UK law, the Trust seeks the consent of applicants to the retention of appropriate personal data of an applicant and their application for the purposes of the correct running of the Trust.
